In view of this, YouTube has also launched a new feature on its platform called Gift Goals. This feature has been introduced to compete with TikTok's gifting model, and through this, creators will be able to earn faster by taking gifts from their fans.

YouTube first announced the gifting system in November 2024 and now in 2025 it is being extended to more creators. Under this feature, viewers can send gifts during live streams which convert into Rubies.

The creator earns $1 for every 100 Rubies. The special thing is that gifts can be redeemed only when the creator is live streaming in vertical format. This feature can be turned on from the Earn tab of YouTube Studio.

The biggest feature of the Gift Goals feature is that now creators can set targets during their live stream and complete it with gifts from fans. Not only this, they can also tell their audience how they will celebrate when the goal is completed. Earlier this option was only for Super Chats but now it is also available for gifts. However, creators who turn on this feature will not get access to Super Stickers.

At the same time, the method of gifting is also easy for viewers. They can buy bundles called Jewels which cost from $0.99 to $49.99. Once the bundle is taken, it can be used to send gifts multiple times during the live stream. With this, viewers also get a set of animated gifts, although there is no customization option in it.

To make this feature even more attractive, YouTube is also offering eligible creators a 50% bonus of up to $1,000 on gift earnings in the first three months. It is clear that YouTube's new Gift Goals feature is not just a means of increasing earnings but also a way to create better engagement between creators and viewers. Like TikTok, now YouTube is also going to open a new dimension for creators regarding live gifting, which can bring a big change in the content industry in the coming times.
