PF Transfer Process: Almost everyone in the country has a PF account. A fixed amount is deposited into your PM account every month. Previously, transferring a PF account after changing jobs was a long process. Upon leaving your old company and joining a new one, you had to fill out a form to transfer the funds from your old PF account to your new account.

Submitting this form, waiting for approval, and then facing weeks of hassle until the transfer was finalized was common. Now, this hassle has been eliminated. With the new system, no forms are required for PF transfers. The entire process is conducted online, and the system automatically identifies your old and new PF accounts and sets up the transfer. Let's explain the process.

PF Transfer Process Simplified

Previously, after leaving a job, you had to fill out Form 13 to transfer funds from your old PF account to a new one. This made PF transfers a cumbersome task for many people. Now, this process has been simplified. As soon as you join a new company and retain the same UAN, the system automatically tracks both your PF accounts.

On the EPFO portal, you simply select which account to keep active. The remaining funds are automatically merged from the old account to the new one. No more company visits or form-checking. The entire process is completed in a few clicks. This has virtually eliminated the delays and hassles of PF transfers when changing jobs.

How to Merge PF Accounts

If you've left one job and joined another, and now have two PF accounts in your name, merging them is now quite easy. First, log in with your UAN on the EPFO website or mobile app. Upon logging in, you'll see the Transfer Request option in the Services section. The system automatically detects that you have more than one PF account.

Now, all you need to do is select the old account from which you want to transfer the funds and the new account as your main account. Your Aadhaar, PAN, and bank details are then automatically verified. Upon confirmation, the request is submitted, and the old balance is merged into the new account within a few days. The entire process is completed without any forms or office visits.
