Delhi Government Disability Pension: Governments in different states across the country run various programs for their poor and disabled citizens. Now, the Delhi government has launched a scheme for ordinary citizens and their families living in the capital. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the new scheme. Family members or individuals employed by non-profit organizations will receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 per month.

The government states that people with disabilities and their families often face economic and social challenges. This scheme provides them with financial assistance, respect, and security. However, not every disabled citizen will benefit from this scheme. You are instructed to identify those who will not receive this assistance.

People will benefit from the scheme.

The government has suggested that only non-citizens will be eligible for assistance, including those categorized as having high support needs. This requires certification from a district-level assessment board. Additionally, you must have a statutory disability certificate.

This document shows a minimum 40% or higher level of communication. Family members or designated caregivers of foreign nationals falling in this category will receive ₹6,000 per month. This amount will be deposited directly into their bank account to prevent any irregularities.

Who will not benefit?

Now let's understand who is excluded from this scheme. Non-citizens with a minimum 40% level of communication will not receive this benefit. Similarly, those who have not lived in Delhi for the past five years will also be excluded. If the family income exceeds ₹1 lakh, then such families will also not receive this financial assistance from the government. Additionally, those with high support needs have not been classified as such. They will also not be eligible for this scheme. This means they will not receive the ₹6,000.
