You will get very cheap goods in this government shop, there will be so many benefits from flour to rice.

To reduce inflation, the government has launched Bharat Rice, which is being sold at an affordable price of ₹ 29 per kg across the country. This initiative is especially beneficial for the poor and middle-class people, providing them with quality rice at a low price, thereby reducing their financial burden. The launch of Bharat Rice is part of a broader effort under which the government is making various essential commodities available at low rates. Here is a closer look at this initiative and other similar efforts.
Launch of Bharat Rice
Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Minister Piyush Goyal launched Bharat Rice. He flagged off 100 mobile vans to distribute rice across Delhi. These affordable rice options are now available at Kendriya Bhandar, National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED), and National Cooperative Consumer Federation of India (NCCF) outlets and mobile units. ‘Bharat’ brand rice is sold in 5 kg and 10 kg bags at a maximum retail price of ₹29 per kg.
Availability of Bharat Atta
After the success of Bharat Rice, the government also introduced Bharat Atta to provide affordable wheat flour to the public. Bharat Atta priced at ₹27.50 per kg is much cheaper than market rates, where similar products are sold at ₹35 to ₹40 per kg. Apart from flour, the government also launched Bharat Pulses, in which chana dal is available at ₹60 per kg. Onion is also being sold at a uniform price of ₹25 per kg in Kendriya Bhandars and other retail stores.
The reason behind affordable prices
In the market, the price of wheat flour of different brands ranges from ₹35 to ₹40 per kg, with a 10 kg packet costing around ₹408. In contrast, Bharat Atta is available at ₹27 per kg with premium quality. Food Corporation of India (FCI) made available 2.5 lakh tonnes of wheat to NAFED, NCCF, and Kendriya Bhandar at ₹21.50 per kg. These agencies, in collaboration with the government, process the atta and sell it to the public at ₹27 per kg, to make it affordable for the economically deprived.
