You cannot change the bank immediately after porting your FASTag; find out the applicable limits..
NHAI has introduced a new feature for FASTag users that allows them to switch the bank associated with their FASTag. The most notable aspect is that the existing FASTag sticker does not need to be removed from the vehicle's windshield, nor does a new sticker need to be affixed. NHAI has launched a feature called 'OneTag' within its 'Rajmargyatra' app, enabling the porting of the FASTag bank.
When porting the FASTag, the tag already affixed to the vehicle remains in place; only the underlying bank and wallet are changed. However, there are rules regarding how frequently you can port your FASTag.
**What is the limit for FASTag porting?**
The 'OneTag' feature facilitates the porting of a FASTag from one bank to another. However, once you have changed the bank associated with your FASTag, you cannot immediately port it to another bank. You must wait six months before changing the bank again. This means you cannot switch your FASTag bank for a period of 180 days; you can only port the FASTag again after the six months has elapsed.
**How to change the FASTag bank**
To change your FASTag bank, you need to use NHAI's 'Rajmargyatra' app. After logging in and entering your vehicle's registration number, you can check your eligibility for porting. If eligible, you must first obtain a 6-digit MVC code from your current FASTag bank. Next, select the new bank within the app and complete the KYC and wallet setup processes. Once the KYC is completed, your FASTag will be successfully ported.
