X Update: Elon Musk's plan to increase X's earnings, now ads will appear in Grok's answers..

X (formerly Twitter) is now preparing to show ads to users in its AI chatbot Grok. Elon Musk's company aims to increase revenue, which, according to reports, had decreased significantly after Twitter was made private. Apart from this, Musk said that X will use the technology of its parent company, XAI, to improve targeted ads. Also, a video and image-making service called Grok Imagine was launched a few days ago, which is currently free in the US.
Elon Musk's plan to raise funds from ads for expensive GPUs
In a Spaces discussion, Musk said that the company will show ads with Grok's answers and suggestions, so that the AI chatbot can earn money. Till now, xAI was only focused on improving the chatbot, but now the focus will also be on earning.
Musk also announced the launch of Grok Imagine, which can create photos and videos with AI. This tool is currently free in the US and has been added to the Grok app, which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
According to Musk, this step is necessary to cover the cost of expensive GPUs running Grok. He said that ads can also come as suggestions in response to a specific question from the user. However, he did not give much information about the entire monetization plan. Apart from this, algorithms will also be optimized with xAI's technology to better target ads on the X platform.
According to a Reuters report, this is important because the company's ad income has declined significantly since Musk bought Twitter and took it private in October 2022. However, according to the report, now X's ad sales may increase by 17.5%, which can reach $1.31 billion (about Rs 11,490 crores).
