As WWDC 2025 approaches, rumors of Apple announcements are increasing. According to a new report, iOS 19, Apple's next operating system update, will include a new feature that will make it extremely easy to transfer eSIM from iPhone to Android smartphone.

iPhone to Android eSIM Transfer: What is the New Feature?

This feature has been found in the code of Google's SIM Manager app, which is part of the recently released Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 update. According to the report, a new option will be added to Apple's iOS 19 under Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone which can be called Transfer to Android. This feature will be very similar to Apple's existing eSIM Quick Transfer, which allows transferring eSIM from one iPhone to another.

How will it work?

The iPhone will generate a QR code, which can be scanned on the Android device.

A session ID and passcode may have to be entered on the Android device.

This process will only work when both devices are connected wirelessly.

If the connection fails, the reason is said to be the iPhone not being on iOS 19.

Essential eSIM transfer

Currently transferring an eSIM from an iPhone to an Android device is a very complicated process. For this, the user has to contact his network provider and get a new activation code or QR code. On the other hand, transfer from iPhone to iPhone or Android to Android is much more seamless. If this feature is indeed part of iOS 19, then Apple can introduce it at WWDC 2025 to be held next month. In this event, the company will give a demo of its other OS updates and new features including iOS 19.
