Stree Suraksha Yojana: Under the Stree Suraksha Yojana (Women's Safety Scheme), eligible women receive a fixed amount as a pension every month. This scheme is specifically designed for unemployed and economically weaker women.

Stree Suraksha Yojana:  Several states in the country are running various schemes to empower women and provide them with financial support. These schemes offer different types of assistance to women. The Kerala government has also launched a special scheme for women, called the Stree Suraksha Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible women will receive a fixed amount as a pension every month.

This will enable them to meet their daily needs without depending on anyone. This scheme had already been announced, but its implementation was delayed due to the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct. According to reports, the application process started on December 22nd. Learn how and which women will benefit from this scheme.

What benefits will be received under the Stree Suraksha Yojana?

Under the Stree Suraksha Yojana, eligible women will receive a pension of Rs. 1000 every month. This amount will be directly transferred to the beneficiary's bank account, similar to other social security pensions. The government aims to provide women with stable financial support so that they do not have to depend on anyone for their small needs.

This scheme is considered particularly beneficial for women who do not have a stable source of income. However, it has also been clarified that if a woman receives the pension by providing false information, the entire amount will be recovered from her with 18 percent interest. Therefore, providing correct information while applying is crucial.

Which women will benefit from the scheme?

Some essential conditions have been set to avail the benefits of this scheme. The applicant woman or transgender woman must be between 35 and 60 years of age and a permanent resident of Kerala. Additionally, she should not be a beneficiary of any other government or social security pension scheme. Women receiving a widow pension, single woman pension, disability pension, EPF, or Welfare Board pension will not be eligible for this scheme. The applicant must possess an Antyodaya Anna Yojana yellow card or a Priority category pink card. Benefits will not be provided if the ration card is blue or white. The application process is entirely online through the ksmart.lsgkerala.gov.in portal, and after verification, the pension will be directly credited to the account.
