On the occasion of International Women's Day, public sector banks have announced special schemes for women. State Bank of India has offered unsecured loans with low interest rates for women entrepreneurs. SBI introduced a new product called 'Aasmita' on International Women's Day. It aims to provide low-interest-rate financing options to women.

SBI Chairman CS Shetty said that the new offering will provide quick and easy loans to women-led micro, small, and medium units. Bank Managing Director Vinay Tonse described the new offering as a symbol of technological innovation and social equality. SBI also introduced the 'Nari Shakti' platinum debit card powered by RuPay, which is specially designed for women.

Bank of Baroda will open a special savings account.

Bank of Baroda has announced the launch of 'Bob Global Women NRE and NRO Savings Account' equipped with an 'Auto Sweep' facility. This will allow customers to get housing loans and vehicle loans at affordable rates along with getting higher interest.

BOB is the first public sector bank to come up with such an account for women account holders. The processing fee on loans in this account will also be less. The bank has revamped one of its flagship NRI offerings, BOB Premium NRE (Resident External Account) and NRO (Resident Ordinary Account) Savings Account, enhancing its features and benefits to provide customers with a more rewarding banking experience.

Bina Waheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said, "The BOB Global Women NRE and NRO Savings Account recognizes the changing dynamics of today's global Indian women. It has been designed to empower women by providing them with premium banking privileges and thoughtfully designed facilities.

The bank said the revamped BOB Premium NRE and NRO Savings Account comes with a host of features, including a customized debit card with enhanced transaction limits, complimentary domestic and international lounge access, free safe deposit lockers, and free personal and air accident insurance coverage.
