With the implementation of the new rates, almost every food and beverage sold on the railways has become cheaper. Everyone drinks water during travel. Indian Railways also sells water. Now, you will find water bottles at a cheaper price. Let's find out how much GST will be levied on which food and beverages.

Water sold on trains becomes cheaper
The Railways has decided to reduce the maximum retail price of Rail Neer bottled water to ₹14 (previously ₹15) for a 1-liter bottle and ₹9 (previously ₹10) for a 0.5-liter bottle. If you are traveling by train, you will get Rail Neer for ₹14. Rail Neer available at stations will also be available for the same amount.

The Ministry of Railways posted on X, "To pass on the benefits of GST reduction directly to consumers, it has been decided to reduce the maximum selling price of Rail Neer from ₹15 to ₹14 for one liter and from ₹10 to ₹9 for half a liter."

From biscuits, namkeen to chabaina, everything has become cheaper.

The rate cut was approved on September 3rd.
On September 3rd, the 56th meeting of the GST Council decided to rationalize GST rates into two slabs of 5% and 18%, merging the 12% and 28% rates. The government also urged industries across the country to pass on the full benefits of the upcoming GST rate cuts to consumers to increase demand for domestic products and strengthen the foundation of the Indian economy.
