In other areas across India, winter holidays have been extended due to the cold wave:
Delhi: Schools will remain closed from January 1 to January 15, will reopen on January 16.
Punjab: Schools have extended winter holidays till January 7, different from the previously scheduled January 1 opening date.
Rajasthan: Schools to remain closed till January 5, with further extension likely.
Haryana: Schools to remain closed till January 15.
Jharkhand: Government schools to reopen on January 6.
Madhya Pradesh: Schools to reopen on January 5.
Jammu and Kashmir: Schools for classes 5 to 12 will remain closed till February 28.
Bihar: Schools for classes 1 to 12 will remain closed from December 25 to 31.
