Government schools in UP are reopening from Friday. School timings have been changed. Due to the cold weather, schools will open at 10:30 AM.
Lucknow: All schools in Uttar Pradesh are reopening on Friday, January 16. However, in some districts, including Noida and Ghaziabad, classes for younger children will continue online until January 17 due to the severe cold. All government primary schools in UP are also reopening from Friday.
Government schools to open at 10:30 AM
It should be noted that government primary schools in UP comprise classes 1 to 8. There is an annual holiday from December 31 to January 15. Approximately 1.3 lakh primary schools are reopening tomorrow. Around 1.9 crore children study in these schools. The government has changed the opening time of government schools due to fog and cold weather. All primary schools will open at 10:30 AM, and classes will end at 3:00 PM.
Noida classes to resume from January 16
In Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), all schools from nursery to class 8 were ordered to remain closed until January 15 due to fog and cold weather. This closure applied to schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, IB, UP Board, and other boards. With the deadline over, schools are set to reopen on January 16, unless any new instructions are issued. However, some private schools continue to offer online classes for younger children.
Ghaziabad school timings changed
The Ghaziabad district administration has announced that all schools for students from nursery to class 5 will remain completely closed due to the cold wave. Classes for students from classes 6 to 12 will be held at revised timings from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Schools in Prayagraj closed until January 20
Meanwhile, due to crowd management concerns during the Magh Mela in Prayagraj, schools for classes 1 to 12 will remain closed until January 20. This order from the District Magistrate applies to all government and private schools.
