In view of the Delhi elections, Jamia Millia Islamia has declared a two-day holiday on February 4 and 5 in its middle school. The official notice said, "In view of the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections scheduled to be held on February 5, 2025, the competent authority of @jmiu_official has announced that there will be holidays for both students and staff of Jamia Middle School on February 3 and 4, 2025. This decision has been taken to facilitate the transfer of the school premises to the concerned authorities."
What will remain open on polling day?
On polling day, all essential services like hospitals, pharmacies, etc. will remain operational throughout the day. Most retail shops, grocery stores, and food shops are also expected to remain open on the day of polling. Apart from this, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that metro services on all lines will begin at 4 am on polling day for the convenience of voters and election staff. Trains will run at an interval of 30 minutes till 6:00 am, after which the regular timetable will resume. Similarly, DTC will operate additional bus services on 35 routes from 4:00 am, so that voters have enough options to reach polling stations.
Prabhat rally to be taken out today
The Deputy Director of Education will take out a Prabhat rally today i.e. on February 3, 2025, at 9 am to spread awareness among voters for Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. Students will march in the surrounding areas with banners and slogans and encourage residents to vote. On January 31, the office of the District Election Officer, District South West, Government of Delhi issued a notice to the Deputy Director of Education of South West Delhi (Najafgarh) and West Delhi (Vikaspuri).
