Who will not receive gas cylinder delivery after 4 days?

New rules regarding LPG gas cylinders are set to come into effect on October 1st. Consumers who have not completed their e-KYC will no longer receive subsidy benefits. Here are the full details.

The month of September is drawing to a close. With only four days left before October begins, it is worth noting that the start of a new month often brings changes. The 1st of the month is particularly significant for those who use petrol, diesel, or gas cylinders, as this is when state-owned oil marketing companies review fuel and gas prices.

In this context, new rules are set to be implemented starting October 1st. Under these new regulations, LPG consumers who have not completed Aadhaar biometric authentication—or e-KYC—will miss out on various benefits associated with their cylinders.

Who will face difficulties in getting a cylinder?

It should be noted that consumers who fail to complete the e-KYC for their LPG connection by the deadline of September 30th will not receive the subsidy benefit, in accordance with the new rules effective October 1st. Essentially, you have only four days left to complete the Aadhaar biometric authentication for your gas connection.

The government has clarified that consumers whose gas connection e-KYC remains incomplete will not receive the subsidy and may have to purchase cylinders at the standard market rate. A key question arises here: will the delivery of gas cylinders to consumers stop entirely without Aadhaar biometric authentication?

Will cylinder supply be halted?

This rule does not mean that LPG cylinder delivery will be stopped if Aadhaar biometric authentication is not completed. Customers will still be able to book cylinders and obtain refills. However, it is certain that if you do not complete the Aadhaar biometric authentication, you will not receive the subsidy benefit.

Don’t delay any further

If you avail of the subsidy on LPG cylinders, you now have only four days left. Therefore, you should not delay even for a single day and should complete the e-KYC process as soon as possible. If you have completed your e-KYC recently, there is no need to worry; however, if you haven’t, make sure to get it done before October 1st.

Exercise necessary caution

Please be aware that fraudsters often call people posing as gas agency employees to collect personal information under the pretext of e-KYC; stay vigilant against such scammers. To complete the e-KYC, visit the gas agency or complete the process online yourself. However, do not share your UPI PIN, OTP, or any bank-related information with anyone.
