The Ministry of Railways has approved a 30-day bonus for Group C employees of the RPF and RPSF for the financial year 2025-26. A maximum monthly salary cap of ₹7,000 will apply to the calculation of this bonus.

There is good news for certain railway employees on the special occasion of Diwali. The Ministry of Railways has approved a 30-day bonus for Group C employees of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) for the financial year 2025-26. This will be provided as a non-productivity-linked bonus (ad-hoc bonus). Notably, there is no salary eligibility threshold for receiving this bonus; however, a maximum limit of ₹7,000 per month has been set for the purpose of its calculation.

According to a circular issued by the Ministry of Railways on November 2, all eligible Group C employees of the RPF and RPSF—including both uniformed and non-uniformed personnel—will benefit from this bonus. Regardless of their place of posting, employees will be entitled to the bonus, provided they meet the stipulated conditions.

How much will the 30-day bonus amount to?

The bonus amount will be determined based on either the employee's average monthly salary or the fixed cap of ₹7,000—whichever is lower. For the calculation, the monthly amount will be divided by 30.4 and then multiplied by 30.

Consequently, if an employee's average salary exceeds ₹7,000, the calculation will be based on this cap. This results in a maximum 30-day bonus amount of ₹6,907.89, which will be rounded off to ₹6,908. In other words, the employee will receive a total bonus of ₹6,908.

Which employees will receive the bonus?

According to the circular, to be eligible for this bonus, an employee must be in service as of March 31, 2026. Additionally, the employee must have completed at least six months of continuous service during the 2025-26 financial year. Employees who have served for a period between six months and one year will receive a bonus proportionate to the number of months worked.

Furthermore, employees may also be eligible under certain specific circumstances. This includes temporary employees who have worked without any break in service, as well as employees who retired or passed away after completing at least six months of regular service during the financial year.
