Which exams are conducted by UPSC?
1. Civil Services Exam (CSE) - This is the most famous exam, in which appointments are made to posts like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS. It has three stages, Prelims, Mains and Interview.
2. Indian Forest Service Exam (IFoS) - In this, officers are recruited for the protection of environment, forests and wildlife. Its preliminary exam is held along with CSE, but the main exam and selection process are different.
3. Engineering Services Exam (ESE / IES) - In this, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering graduates are selected. Who become officers in places like Railways, Defense, Central Engineering Service.
4. Combined Defence Services (CDS) - Candidates selected in this get a chance to become officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force. Through CDS, recruitment takes place in IMA, INA, AFA and OTA.
5. National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination - This examination is given after 12th. Candidates who pass in this are made officers in the army after training in NDA and NA.
6. CAPF (Assistant Commandant) Examination - This exam gives an opportunity to become Assistant Commandant in Central Armed Police Forces like BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB. It consists of physical test, written examination and interview.
7. Indian Economic Service, Statistical Service (IES / ISS) - In this exam, experts are recruited in economic and statistics departments. Undergraduate and postgraduate students related to Economics and Statistics can participate in it.
8. Combined Geo-Scientist Exam - This exam is used for recruitment to the posts of Geologist, Hydrogeologist, Chemist and related posts.
9. Indian Corporate Law Services (ICLS) - This exam is for the service under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. It is a great opportunity for law graduates and people involved in corporate law.
10. Combined Medical Services (CMSE) - This exam is for the post of doctor in government hospitals and institutions. Students with MBBS degree can participate in it.
