This label will be assigned to accounts that primarily post content that is either entirely AI-generated or has been edited using AI tools. It will be visible on the creator's profile, as well as on their individual Reels and posts. This will enable users to immediately identify whether the content they are viewing was generated by AI. This new label will be distinct from the existing "AI Info" badge on Instagram; the AI ​​Info badge merely indicates that AI tools *may* have been utilized in a specific post.

How Will the Label Impact Creators?

Meta has clarified that the use of this label will not negatively impact an account or its content in any way. It has been designed solely to promote transparency. Accounts that post AI-generated content are encouraged to add this label to their profiles. It is worth noting that the application of this label will be entirely optional. If a creator prefers not to identify themselves as an "AI Creator," they will have the option to simply not add the label to their account. This means that AI creators can continue posting content just as they did before, even without using a label.

Labels May Become Mandatory in the Future

Work on this label is currently ongoing, and Meta is not yet enforcing its usage strictly. While the company has not made it mandatory at this time, given the rapid growth of AI-generated content, it is anticipated that Meta may eventually implement stricter regulations regarding these labels. Should this happen, it will become mandatory for creators to display this label.
