WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for Android beta users, allowing them to scan documents within the app itself. However, this feature is already available to iOS users. With the arrival of this new feature, there will be no need for external apps to scan documents, making the use of WhatsApp even easier.
The document scanning feature was first seen in WhatsApp beta's Android version 2.25.18.29 when it was in its initial phase. Now this feature has become available for public testing. Many beta users have reported using this new feature after downloading the latest version from the Google Play Store.

How to use this feature
After the recent update, a new 'Scan Document' feature has been added to the attachment menu. This feature appears along with the already existing 'Browse Documents' and 'Choose from Gallery' options. Tapping on this new feature opens your Android device's camera, allowing you to directly capture and share a photo of the document. This feature has two shooting options: manual and auto. In manual mode, users can decide when to capture a photo, while in automatic mode WhatsApp automatically detects the edges of the document and captures the photo, making the scanning process easier.

After capturing the photo, WhatsApp immediately processes the image and converts it to PDF format. This allows the file to be instantly shared in individual chats or group messages. The entire scanning and conversion process takes place on the user's phone, using Android's native Document Capture API.
