According to the WABetaInfo report, this scanning feature has been seen in the beta version 2.25.18.29 of WhatsApp. Although this feature is not active right now and is not available to common users, it can start soon.

Android users will be able to use this feature in this way. Open the chat on WhatsApp to which the document is to be sent. After this, tap on the “+” icon given below. Now click on the Document option. Here a new option Scan Document will be shown. As soon as you click on it, the camera will open. Scan the document, crop it if needed, and send it immediately.

At present, there is an option to scan documents in apps like Google Drive. But after scanning from there, sending it to WhatsApp becomes a bit of a long process. With this feature in WhatsApp, the entire work will be done from a single app.
