Whatsapp: WhatsApp is testing a new and fun feature for Android users through which users will be able to send motion photos. According to feature tracker WABetaInfo, this new feature has been seen in the latest beta version of WhatsApp and may be available to some beta testers at the moment. Through this feature, users will be able to send photos in which both the picture and sound of the moments before and after taking the shot will be captured.
How will the new motion photo feature look?
According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, a new icon will be added for motion photos with a ring and a small circle around the play button. This icon will appear in the image selection interface from where users will be able to select photos from their gallery and send them to a person or group.
Tapping on this icon in the top right corner will send the photo as a motion photo. WhatsApp defines it as “a recording that includes the moments before and after the photo is taken.” And most importantly, it will also include audio.
On which devices will this feature work
The motion photo feature is already present in many Android smartphones. Samsung offers it as “Motion Photos” and Google Pixel offers it as “Top Shot”. If this feature is present in your phone, then you will be able to send it directly from WhatsApp. Even if your phone does not have this feature, you will still be able to see and hear the motion photos sent by others.
When will it be rolled out
Currently this feature is on testing in the Android 2.25.22.29 beta update and it may take a few days to reach all beta testers. WhatsApp has not yet said when it will be released permanently, but after its arrival, the problem of converting motion photos into video files while sending them will end.
