Military actions between the two nations over the past few months have led to reduced shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Impact on LPG Supply

Shipping data from Kpler indicates that vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz remains very low (fewer than 10 ships per day) due to geopolitical tensions. Meanwhile, a decline in the number of ships passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait was also observed on Sunday. Normalcy has not yet fully returned to the Red Sea route due to recent attacks by Houthi rebels and ongoing uncertainty, impacting global oil and gas supplies. According to a Reuters report, 11 commodity vessels passed through the Bab al-Mandab Strait on Sunday. Over the weekend, fewer than 10 commodity vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz each day.

What is the price today?

There is no change in gas cylinder prices in the country today. The price in Delhi is ₹942 per cylinder. In Mumbai, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder is ₹941.5. These prices were last revised on June 7, when they were increased by ₹29 per cylinder.

Prior to that, a hike of ₹60 was implemented on March 7.

Commercial cylinder prices were also last revised on July 1. At that time, a significant price cut of ₹183.50 was implemented, providing major relief to consumers. Consequently, the price of a commercial gas cylinder in Delhi dropped from ₹3,113.50 to ₹2,930.

Typically, state-owned oil companies review prices on the first day of every month. Therefore, the next likely revision could take place on August 1, 2026.
