Solar Panel: If you are considering installing solar panels to reduce rising electricity bills, this news is for you. What is the first step in the installation process? Find out all the details here.

Solar Panel: Nowadays, a large number of people are installing solar panels on their rooftops to significantly lower their electricity bills. However, there are also those who wish to install solar panels but lack sufficient information about them. Today, we will answer these questions, providing you with comprehensive information regarding solar panels.

Which solar panel is the best choice?

If you plan to install solar panels, the first step is to assess your household's electricity consumption. This will clarify whether a 1 kW, 2 kW, or higher-capacity solar panel is suitable for your home. Selecting a solar panel based on your usage of electrical appliances can prove to be highly beneficial.

Avail the benefits of government schemes

You can take advantage of the 'PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana' (PM Solar House Free Electricity Scheme) for the installation. To do this, you must first register on the scheme's official portal. You will be required to provide certain necessary documents and information. Additionally, the consumer must submit an application by entering their consumer number and other relevant details. Once the application is submitted, the subsequent steps of the process begin.

What happens after registration?

Following registration, the electricity company reviews the application; if everything is in order, they grant permission for the installation. You can then have the solar panels installed by a vendor listed with the government. Once installed, the electricity department sets up a 'net meter' at your home, enabling the use of the solar panel system.

How much does it cost to install solar panels?

The cost depends on the capacity of the solar panel system—specifically, how many kilowatts you choose to install. Installing a 1 kW system could cost approximately ₹60,000 to ₹80,000.
Installing a 2 kW system could cost between ₹1,00,000 and ₹1,30,000.
Installing a 3 kW system could cost between ₹1,20,000 and ₹1,80,000.
Similarly, installing a 5 kW system could cost between ₹2,00,000 and ₹2,80,000.
Please note that these cost estimates are prior to any subsidy.

Install the panels in a location that receives ample sunlight.
Ensure the installation site is free from shadows cast by nearby tall buildings or trees.
