The full form of ISRO is the Indian Space Research Organization. ISRO works under the Department of Space of the Government of India. Its headquarters is in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Space activities in India began in the 1960s when Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, known as the father of the Indian space program, came up with the idea of starting a space mission. After this, Dr. Sarabhai and Dr. Ramanathan established the Indian Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR). After this, later its name was changed to ISRO. To become a scientist in ISRO and DRDO, one must have a bachelor's degree in engineering. After this, there are many ways to become a scientist. The first way is that both organizations recruit scientists from time to time. One can become a scientist by passing this exam. Another way is to work with ISRO and DRDO as a research fellow. For this, you will have to do M.Tech first. After this, you will have to pass the CSIR-NET exam with a good score. After this, you will have to do PhD. Both organizations conduct recruitment for Senior Research Fellow and JRF from time to time.

Salary of scientist in ISRO and DRDO

DRDO- The basic salary of Scientist G is Rs 1,44,200, Scientist H is Rs 1,82,200, and Eminent Scientist is Rs 2,05,400 per month. The salary of the scientist who becomes the chairman of DRDO is up to Rs 2,25,000 per month.

ISRO- The starting salary of a scientist engineer in ISRO is Rs 84,360 per month. The highest officer in ISRO is the Chairman. Whose salary is Rs 2.5 lakh per month.
