What is E-Aadhaar App?: A New Digital Aadhaar Service Coming Soon, Early Access Available on Play Store

The Government of India is preparing to launch a brand-new mobile application called E-Aadhaar App, which will make Aadhaar-related services much easier. With this app, users will be able to complete almost all Aadhaar updates and services from their smartphones without visiting Aadhaar centres.
What is E-Aadhaar App?
Just like the existing mAadhaar app, the upcoming E-Aadhaar App will serve as a digital version of your Aadhaar card. Through this app, you can update details such as name, address, and date of birth, and also share Aadhaar digitally wherever required.
Currently, the early-access version of this app is available on the Google Play Store for Android users. Though not all features are active yet, users can log in using their Aadhaar number and try limited services. According to reports, the full version may officially launch by the end of this year.
Features of the E-Aadhaar App
-
Self-update option for address, DOB, and phone number.
-
Digital Aadhaar card sharing anytime, anywhere.
-
Users will only need to visit Aadhaar centres for biometric updates (fingerprint or iris scan).
-
The app can auto-fetch documents like birth certificate, PAN card, passport, driving licence, ration card, MGNREGA records, and electricity bill, which will simplify verification processes.
Advanced Technology Integration
According to a Financial Express report, the app will use AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Face ID recognition. This will speed up Aadhaar verification processes, enabling government services that usually take days to be completed within minutes.
How to Try the App Now?
The trial (early-access) version is live on the Google Play Store. Android users can download it, log in with their Aadhaar number, and try out basic features such as Aadhaar sharing.
