According to a *Hindustan Times* report, the proposed family identity card may be issued in the name of the family's eldest female member. This implies that the oldest woman in the household would be recorded as the 'head' of the family in official documents. To ensure authenticity and transparency, the card will be linked to Aadhaar.

A centralized database is being developed to manage this family card. It will store comprehensive details, including the names, ages, relationships, and residential addresses of all family members. Additionally, the system will allow for regular updates regarding changes within the family, such as births, deaths, marriages, or address changes.

The family identity card database will be linked with the records of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). This integration will enable the automatic verification and updating of birth or death records for any family. Furthermore, citizens will have the facility to view their details and apply for corrections if necessary.

This family card will serve as a single-window system for various schemes of both the Central and Delhi governments. Through it, beneficiaries can avail themselves of benefits ranging from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana to various subsidies and other public welfare services.
