WFH Survey: Prefer the office or working from home? Indians reveal their preferred model in a survey.
WFH Survey: The 'work from home' culture emerged following the COVID-19 pandemic, and people generally enjoyed working from home. However, a recent survey has revealed something different.
WFH Survey: Before the COVID pandemic hit in 2019, the concept of working from home was largely unknown, especially in India. After the pandemic began, people started working from home and found they liked it quite a bit. However, after two or three consecutive years of working remotely, the routine began to feel somewhat exhausting. Yet, now that 'work from office' has resumed, people are missing the WFH arrangement. Amidst this, a new survey has brought fresh insights to light.
What did the WFH survey reveal?
A recent survey titled 'Great Place to Work India: Voice of India 2025' has been released. It indicates that if given a choice, 39% of employees prefer the hybrid work model. The survey highlights that employees in the professional services and technology sectors are particularly fond of the hybrid model. Companies are now focusing more on the quality of work being produced rather than the physical location from which the employee is working.
What is the hybrid work model?
The hybrid work model is a blend of 'work from home' and 'work from office.' Under this arrangement, employees go to the office for two or three days a week and work from home on the remaining days. This combination is known as the hybrid work model. It allows for comfortable work from home while keeping the mind fresh through occasional office attendance, which is why it is highly popular among people.
What are the benefits of the hybrid work model?
The hybrid work model offers several advantages, such as:
Employees work from home on some days and from the office on others. This enables them to strike a better balance between their work and personal lives.
Working in a hybrid model boosts employee satisfaction and reduces the likelihood of attrition.
It also helps companies attract top talent.
Will 'Work from Office' (WFO) come to an end?
According to this survey, that is not the case. There are several sectors where working from the office or on-site is essential. For instance, in the manufacturing and production sectors, 72% of employees still primarily work at the workplace. Meanwhile, 59% of on-site employees work from their employer's office or factory.
