West Bengal: Boys and girls of these categories will also get benefits in "YogyaShree" scheme, the government announced

The West Bengal government will now include students of these categories in addition to SC / ST students in the "YogyaShree" scheme.

The West Bengal government will now include boys and girls of minority, OBC, and general category in the "YogyaShree" scheme. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, "We are proud that our 'YogyaShree' scheme, which we started to provide completely free training to SC / ST students of the state for admission to engineering and medical courses, is continuously giving more and more benefits for our SC / ST boys and girls. Now we will also include boys and girls of minority, OBC and general category in this scheme."

He said that "YogyaShree" trainees got 23 ranks (including 13 IIT seats) in JEE (Advanced), 75 ranks in JEE (Main), 432 ranks in WBJEE and 110 ranks in NEET this year. These achievements in these tough competitive exams are even better than the results of previous years.

The scheme launched for free training

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a post on the social media platform 'X' that SC/ST students are continuously getting benefits from this scheme. He said, 'Now we will also include boys and girls from minority, OBC and general category in this scheme.'


The "Yogya Shree" scheme was launched by the government to provide completely free training to SC/ST students of the state for admission in engineering and medical courses. This scheme is continuously giving more and more benefits to SC/ST boys and girls. Now boys and girls from minority, OBC, and general categories will also be included in the "Yogya Shree" scheme.

The number of centers increased to 50

Keeping in mind the value of this important training support for disadvantaged boys and girls, the government has now increased the number of centers in the state to 50 and the number of our supported trainees to 2000. For better preparation, training will be given from class 11th.
