If you have been facing persistent issues with your FASTag and are considering switching banks, you can do so easily via the Rajmargyatra app by following a few simple steps.
FASTag is incredibly useful for motorists traveling on expressways. While people often consider replacing their FASTag when facing recurring problems, the lengthy process involved often makes them apprehensive about switching banks.
However, this process has now been made much simpler. If you wish to switch your existing FASTag to a different bank, you can do so using the Rajmargyatra app. Let’s find out how to switch banks for your FASTag.
How to switch banks?
Go to the Rajmargyatra app.
First, open the Rajmargyatra app on your mobile and log in using your registered mobile number. You will receive an OTP; enter it to complete the verification process.
Select the OneTag option.
Once verification is complete, you will see the 'OneTag' or 'FASTag Portability' option; select it.
Enter the required details.
Next, you will need to enter all the details related to your vehicle. After entering the information, the system will check if your FASTag is eligible for a bank switch.
Option to choose a bank
If the FASTag is found eligible, you will see a list of available partner banks and will need to select a new bank from that list.
Will the FASTag need to be replaced?
After this, the selected bank will complete the KYC and onboarding process. Once all necessary procedures are finished, you will not need to replace the physical FASTag; the new bank will simply be linked to your existing FASTag.
Things to consider before switching banks
If your FASTag is not working properly and you want to switch banks, it is advisable to check a few important things beforehand. First, check whether your current FASTag is active.
Also, verify if there are any pending transactions associated with the FASTag currently affixed to your vehicle.
Additionally, do not forget to find out about the FASTag-related features offered by the new bank.
