What is a Baal Aadhaar Card?

The UIDAI launched the blue-colored Baal Aadhaar card for children in February 2018. It looks distinct from a standard Aadhaar card and has been specifically designed for young children. Any child residing in India is eligible to apply for it.

Documents Required for Baal Aadhaar

Getting a Baal Aadhaar card does not require an extensive list of documents. The child's birth certificate or a hospital discharge slip is mandatory. Additionally, the parents' Aadhaar cards are required, as the child's Aadhaar is linked to theirs. Furthermore, proof of address must also be submitted.

How to Apply for Baal Aadhaar?

The process for obtaining a Baal Aadhaar is quite simple. To do so:

First, visit the UIDAI website.
On the portal, click on the 'Book an Appointment' option located within the 'My Aadhaar' section.
Enter your city and mobile number.
Enter the OTP received on your mobile number to verify your identity.
Next, select a nearby Aadhaar enrollment center and confirm your appointment date and time.
Visit the designated center and fill out the enrollment form with the child's details.
Accurately enter the parents' Aadhaar numbers and submit the necessary documents.
A photograph of the child will be taken at the center. Biometric data is not required for young children; instead, the fingerprints or iris scans of their parents are recorded.

Upon completion of the application process, you will receive an acknowledgment slip containing an Enrollment ID. This ID allows you to track the status of your application. Notably, there is absolutely no charge for obtaining or updating a 'Baal Aadhaar' card.
