Voter Card is an important document for every Indian citizen, which is not only a proof of identity, but also gives you the right to vote. But if, for some reason, your name has been removed from the voter list, then there is no need to panic. Now you can also register a complaint sitting at home and get your name added to the voter list again.

Don't have a voter card, can you still vote?

Yes, if you do not have a Voter ID Card, but your name is in the voter list, then you can vote. The real identity is to have a name on the voter list, not to have a card. Therefore, your name must be added to the voter list.

If the name is deleted, then complain like this.

If your name has been removed from the voter list, then first of all, you can complain about it online. For this, go to the National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) and log in by going to the 'Register Complaint' or 'Share Suggestion' section. After logging in, file your complaint.

If you do not already have a login, you will have to create an account on the website. This process is completely online, and you can file your complaint in a few minutes.

Help can also be obtained by phone or BLO.
If you are facing difficulty in filing a complaint online, you can call the Election Commission's helpline number 1950. Apart from this, you can also contact the BLO (Booth Level Officer) of your area. For this, you will have to submit a passport-size photo, some important documents, and fill out Form 6. After filling out this form, your name will be added to the voter list again.

What to do if you have moved house or area?
If you have changed your house or locality even while living in the same city, then it is necessary to get your name removed from the voter list of the old area. After this, you will have to fill out Form 7, which you can download online. Attach your address proof and ID proof with this form and submit it to the BLO. After this, your name will be added to the voter list of the new address.

Every citizen has both the right and the responsibility to vote. Therefore, it is important that you confirm in time whether your name is on the voter list or not. If not, then get it added again using the easy methods given here.
