Useful Thing: Companies will not use your data for AI training, change these settings..

In the rapidly growing world of generative artificial intelligence (AI), tech companies are using your data to improve their AI models. For this, they are quietly changing their privacy policies and terms of service, so that users' data can not only be used in training, but can also be sold as a license to other companies.
Recently, the popular file-sharing platform WeTransfer faced tremendous criticism when it added to its terms of service that files uploaded by users can be used to improve machine learning models. As the controversy grew, the company had to remove all references related to AI and machine learning from its documentation.
Your data and AI: Alarm bells
Tech companies are scraping public data available on the Internet, including your social media posts, blogs, reviews, and photos, so that they can be used in AI model training. Many artists, writers, and content creators have objected to this, and cases have also been filed in the courts.
How can you escape?
Many companies are now giving users the option to ‘opt out’ of having their data used for AI training; however, once the data has gone into training, it is nearly impossible to remove it. Here are some ways to opt out on some of the major platforms…
1. Adobe
If you have a business or school Adobe account, you are automatically opted out.
For personal accounts:
Go to Adobe’s privacy page.
Scroll down to the “Content analysis for product improvement” section
Turn the toggle off
2. Google Gemini
Conversations in the Gemini AI chatbot can be used for training. To opt-out:
Open Gemini
Go to "Activity."
Select the "Turn Off" dropdown
Turn off "Gemini Apps Activity."
3. Grok (X / Twitter)
For Grok, the AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk's company xAI:
Go to X (Twitter) Settings
Open the "Privacy and Safety" section
Go to the "Grok" tab
Uncheck the data sharing option
4. LinkedIn
LinkedIn now uses user posts to train AI. To opt out:
Open your profile
Go to Settings > Data Privacy.
Toggle off "Use my data for training content creation AI models."
5. ChatGPT and DALL·E (OpenAI)
In ChatGPT:
Settings > Data Controls
Uncheck the "Improve the model for everyone" option.
For DALL·E (the image generator):
Fill out the form on the OpenAI website that includes your rights, name, and email
to have your images removed from future training
Limitations and facts
Even if you opt out, your data will not necessarily be removed from existing AI training datasets. Most companies do not make it clear which sources they have taken their data from, and this shows a huge lack of transparency.
