From next month, 70 plus will also enter Ayushman Bharat.
Recently, the central government has expanded the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. From next month i.e. October, all the elderly above 70 years of age will also get the benefit of this scheme. About 6 crore senior citizens and about 4.5 crore families in the country will benefit from this scheme. This scheme is also called Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). This scheme was started in 2018. This scheme, which provides free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, is the largest government health scheme in the world. Only West Bengal and Delhi have not adopted the Ayushman Bharat scheme so far.

Earlier, all the elderly were not included in Ayushman Bharat.
Earlier, this scheme did not include the elderly of all categories. Now all people above 70 years of age will be able to take advantage of this scheme. Under this scheme, the Ayushman cardholder gets treatment for all major diseases for free.

How to get an Ayushman card?
For this, you will have to check the eligibility first. You can check your eligibility by visiting the official website https://pmjay.gov.in/. Free health schemes of the Delhi government
1. Treatment is free in all government hospitals of Delhi. If the waiting period is more than 30 days, you can get treatment in a private hospital, the cost of which will be borne by the Delhi government. For this, it is necessary to have a Delhi voter card.

2. In Delhi, a person injured in a road accident can also be treated in a nearby private hospital. This expense is borne by the Delhi government.

3. Delhi Arogya Kosh Yojana (DAK) – Under the Delhi Arogya Kosh Yojana, Delhiites are getting facilities like free treatment in tests, implants, surgery, etc. Under this scheme, every citizen of Delhi who has a Delhi voter card can get treatment. The Delhi government bears the cost of implants up to Rs 5 lakh.

Under the 'Swasthya Sathi' scheme in West Bengal, those who get treatment in government hospitals are given the benefit of free treatment by the Health Department.
