UPSSSC Chairman Praveer Kumar resigns, citing these reasons

IAS Praveer Kumar has resigned from the post of UPSSSC Chairman. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also accepted his resignation.

Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission i.e. UPSSSC Chairman Praveer Kumar has submitted his resignation to the government. In his letter sent to the government, he has demanded to relieve him from this responsibility citing his health. After which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accepted the resignation of IAS Praveer Kumar. Also, the government has appointed the acting chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission for now. The Yogi government has appointed senior member of the commission ON Singh as the acting chairman.

Resigned for this reason

IAS Praveer Kumar, the current chairman, told India TV that he has resigned due to health reasons. He told that his wife's knee operation has been done in a private hospital in Delhi, after which he wants to stay with her, that's why he has resigned. Apart from this there is no other reason. Let us tell you that Praveer Kumar is an IAS officer of the year 1982 batch. In the year 2019, he was made the chairman of the commission.

It is worth noting that UPSSSC is conducting recruitment examination for the posts of Group 'C' and 'D'. The Yogi government appointed IAS Praveer as the chairman of the commission in December 2019, his tenure was ending in December this year, but before that he has resigned from the post of chairman. IAS Praveer implemented the Dual Examination System to bring transparency in recruitments. Under this, only those who appeared in the primary qualifying exam were considered eligible for the mains exam.
