UPI Tips: Money deducted from UPI but the other person did not receive it? Know what to do immediately...

It must have happened to you at some point that, despite making a payment to someone through UPI, the other person did not receive the payment. If yes, and you do not know exactly what to do in such a situation, then let us tell you that you are at the right place. In fact, despite UPI being in vogue for a long time, people are not clear about what to do in case a digital payment gets stuck due to technical reasons. When the other person does not receive the UPI payment deducted from the account in his bank, it is natural to get tense. However, instead of getting tense in such a situation, one should follow the steps given below.
Check the status of payment in the app.
Whenever you make a UPI payment through a payment app and the other person does not receive the money, then you should go to that app and check the status of your payment, from which you made that payment. If the status of the payment is showing successful there, then you should wait for 30 to 60 minutes. If the payment is completed successfully, the other person should receive the payment within an hour. If, for some reason, the status of the payment is unsuccessful, then there is no need to worry. Sometimes it happens due to technical flaws that the payment gets stuck in between. Such payments are returned to your account immediately or within 24 hours.
What if the status of the payment appears pending?
If you see the status of your payment as pending instead of successful or unsuccessful in the payment app, then you should wait for that status to change. Actually, pending status means that the payment is still in process, and in such a case, it can be anything, such as successful or unsuccessful. Once the status of the payment is clear, you can think about what to do next.
Complain in the app
If, after more than an hour, the payment is not returned to you or the other person, then you should file a complaint in that app. Almost all apps have a system to lodge this complaint. If you do not get any solution from the app even after 24 hours of filing the complaint, then you can proceed to the next step.
Contact the bank
If no one receives the payment for more than 24 hours, you should contact the customer service center of your bank. There, you can complain with your transaction ID. The bank will have to return your money in the next 30 days, and if the bank is unable to do so, then you can take your complaint to RBI. RBI not only gets the entire money back in such cases, but also imposes a fine on the banks.
