UPI Payment Rules: Making payments through UPI is going to be even easier. Now you will be able to make payments with fingerprint and face ID without entering a PIN. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is preparing to bring the Biometric Payment System. Due to this, the transaction will become safer and smarter than before. But now the question is, what is a Biometric Payment System, and when will this facility start?

What is a Biometric Payment System?

What is a Biometric payment system: In a Biometric Payment System, fingerprint or face ID will be used to confirm payment. This payment facility is more secure than PIN or password, as well as very easy. PIN or password can be easily stolen or copied.

But, this risk is less in biometric payment. A biometric payment system will work in the same way; just like you use fingerprint or face ID to unlock the phone, you will be able to do the same for payment.

When will the facility start?

NPCI has not yet given information about the launch date of this new payment feature. However, it has made it clear that its focus is to make UPI payments more secure and easier than before. It is possible that in the coming days, the facility of doing UPI with biometrics instead of PIN may be available.

Big changes are going to happen from August 1

UPI New Rules 1 August: Big changes are going to happen in UPI from August 1. These include changes like balance check limit, autopay only at a fixed time, limit in payment reversal, limit in checking payment status, and limit on viewing transaction history.

According to the new rules, now auto-pay requests will be sent only before 10 am and between 1 pm and 5 pm. Along with this, users will not be able to check balance more than 50 times in the whole day.
