UPI ID Tips: Now Paytm users can easily change UPI ID..
Paytm has been in the headlines for the past several days. Millions of people across the country use this app for online payments. Recently, strict action was taken by the Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI against its Payments Bank. Amidst the bad news, a special facility has been started on Paytm which will make a lot of work easier for the users.
Paytm is facing a lot of problems after the action taken by RBI on Paytm Payments Bank. For this reason, the company also had to stop its Fastag service. However, Paytm has been granted a license to operate as a third-party aggregator. This service is provided by Google Pay and WhatsApp Pay in India. Due to this change, users' existing @paytm UPI ID will not be available, hence they will have to switch to the new ID upon migration.
In the meantime, if you are waiting for this change to happen or for some reason the auto-migration has not happened. Now you can also switch it manually in the app on your phone.
How to change your UPI ID on Paytm?
After getting approval to operate through SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and other banks, users have been given the option to change their UPI ID. Know how to change your Paytm UPI ID from your phone?
First of all open the Paytm app on the phone.
Click on your profile account.
Scroll down and tap on UPI & Payment Settings.
The UPI ID for your account will appear at the top of the screen.
Click on the ‘Edit’ button to view different UPI IDs available for your bank account.
The primary UPI ID will appear at the top. This ID is visible to the people you make payments to.
Below that you will see the rest of the UPI IDs.
Click on Activate to use the UPI ID issued by different banks.
The UPI ID will be certified using SMS verification through the registered mobile number.
After this, you can use the new UPI ID to make payment on Paytm.
