Today, almost everyone in India makes payments through UPI. As a result, cash has disappeared from our everyday lives. However, due to some changes that are going to happen on August 1 regarding UPI, you may have to lose your UPI ID. One of the many changes to be made in UPI on August 1 will be that UPI IDs linked to such phone numbers, which have not been active for a long time, will be closed. In such a situation, a common habit that is seen in most Indians can snatch their UPI ID from them. Let's know about it in detail and find out how you can save your UPI ID from being closed.

What will change regarding UPI from August 1?

According to the changes going to happen regarding UPI from next month, from August 1, you will not be able to check the balance on your PhonePe or Paytm again and again. You will have to change some habits; otherwise, there will be problems in online payment-related work. From August 1, any user will be able to check their balance only 50 times a day. This limit is enough for a common user. Many users keep their payments in auto mode. For example, Netflix subscription, SIP money, or electricity-water bills are also put on autopay. This will also now happen at a fixed time.

According to reports, authorization and debit processing for all autopay services will be possible only during non-peak hours. All this exercise is being done to reduce the load on the network so that UPI payment-related facilities do not crash. NPCI has clearly said that banks and payment apps will have to follow these rules. These changes also include the deactivation of UPI IDs linked to inactive mobile numbers.

Get the inactive number recharged.
If the mobile number linked to your UPI ID is inactive for more than 90 days, then your UPI ID can be closed. This step is being taken to make the transactions done through UPI safe and fast. In such a situation, if your mobile number linked to UPI is not active for a long time, then get your number recharged.
