Whether a user wants to link an email address for the first time or replace an existing one, the update can now be completed remotely without visiting an Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

The government has announced that this facility will remain completely free for six months, starting from July 1, 2026, encouraging more users to register an email address with their Aadhaar profile.

Officials have clarified that the new feature is currently accessible only through the Aadhaar App.

Users who wish to use the service should download or update the latest version of the official application on their smartphone. The app is available for both Android and iPhone (iOS) devices.

The ministry said the digital service has received a strong response soon after its launch. Within just two days, more than 250,000 Aadhaar holders had already updated or linked their email address using the Aadhaar App.
