UP News: The UP government is preparing to provide housing and free medical treatment to victims of triple talaq and acid attacks, as well as to destitute women. To this end, the government has begun gathering information on these affected women.

UP News: The government is taking a major step to assist women. Women who have been subjected to triple talaq or acid attacks, and who lack permanent housing, will be provided with their own homes through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or the Chief Minister’s Awas Yojana.

Crimes against women have long been a concern. You may have heard of cases involving triple talaq or acid attacks in UP. Once again, the government led by CM Yogi Adityanath has taken a significant decision in favor of women: those facing such circumstances will receive benefits under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana—meaning they will receive free medical treatment.

Process of Identifying Affected Women Begins

Acting on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s orders, the Welfare Department has initiated the process of gathering information regarding victims of triple talaq and acid attacks, as well as destitute women. The department is identifying women facing these situations so that they can become beneficiaries of government schemes.

Once the identification process is complete, eligible women will receive the benefits of these government schemes. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s objective is to ensure that no destitute or needy woman remains unaware of these schemes. The Yogi Adityanath government has directed officials to provide housing—through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or the Chief Minister’s Awas Yojana—to women who have endured triple talaq, acid attacks, or other difficult circumstances, as well as to those who do not own a home.

A Major Government Initiative for Women

Additionally, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered that women who have experienced triple talaq, along with their families, be enrolled in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana to access healthcare benefits.

This ensures they receive free medical treatment.

They are to be linked with the Jan Arogya Yojana to avail of healthcare benefits. The government is striving to make the lives of these women—who are facing economic and social challenges—more secure and dignified by providing them with housing and health security. Through these schemes, the government is making efforts to ensure their lives are even more secure.
