During this, the biggest relief was given to the employed people, in which it was announced that up to a salary of Rs 12 lakh 75 thousand, tax would not have to be paid. Apart from this, announcements were also made regarding medical and IIT seats. The Finance Minister said that the seats of IIT can be increased manifold. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that more than 6500 seats will be increased in the new IITs started across the country. Apart from this, the expansion of IIT Patna in Bihar has also been announced. The Finance Minister said that the number of seats in 23 IITs of the country has been doubled. This means that the number of IIT seats is expected to increase in the coming years. This is big news for all those students who have been working hard for many years to get admission in IIT.
