Under the central government's Ujjwala Yojana, the government provides gas cylinders to poor and needy people for ₹550. Furthermore, those who are still forced to cook with coal, wood, or cow dung cakes are also provided with free gas stoves, cylinders, and other materials under this scheme, so they don't have to inhale toxic gases while cooking.

The central government has approved 2.5 million new connections. With this expansion, the total number of PMUY connections will increase to 105.8 million. The government has approved a budget of ₹676 crore. The first phase of the Ujjwala Yojana was so successful that the central government has launched its second version.
