If you have not updated your child's Aadhaar yet, then get it done soon. It is necessary to update the biometrics in the Aadhaar card of children. Unique Identification Authority of India, i.e., UIDAI, has issued a new guideline for this and has written a letter to all the states and union territories asking them to complete the pending updates soon.

Actually, it is necessary to update the Aadhaar card of children twice. Once on completion of 5 years of age and second time on completion of 15 years.

Camps will be organized in schools.
UIDAI Chief Bhavesh Kumar has asked the states and union territories to organize camps in schools to complete the pending biometric updates in the Aadhaar of children. For this, UIDAI has partnered with the School Education and Literacy Department. Now, on the Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) application, schools will get information about which children's biometric updates are pending.

Why is it necessary to update?

According to UIDAI, it is very important to update biometrics on time so that the data in the Aadhaar card of children remains correct and reliable. There are about 17 crore Aadhaar numbers across the country in which this update is pending. If biometrics are not updated in Aadhaar, then children may face difficulty in taking advantage of many government schemes.

Not only this, but problems can also arise during registration in university and competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and CUET. UIDAI said that often, students and parents rush to get the update done at the last moment, which increases stress. This can be easily avoided by getting it updated on time.

It is mandatory to update biometrics at the ages of 5 and 15 years.

UIDAI has clarified that every child must update biometrics at the ages of 5 and 15 years. This process keeps the Aadhaar data accurate. Now this work will become easier for children and parents through camps.

What will be the benefit?
The new system will allow schools to directly know which children's biometrics have not been updated. This will enable camps to be set up in a targeted manner and children will not need to stand in queues or run around. The ministry believes that this joint initiative will make it easier for crores of children to update their Aadhaar.
