The Delhi government has resumed the U-Special Bus Service for students. These buses will run to many colleges, including Delhi University, JNU, IIT, and Jamia. 25 new routes and metro stations have been added.

The students traveling daily from the areas of Outer Delhi and Yamunapar will get direct benefit from this.

Which colleges will be reached by buses?

You special bus service will be run on 25 new routes. Some of these major routes are as follows-

Narela to Patel Chowk

West Vihar to Kirodimal College

Okhla to Khalsa College

Vasundhara Enclave to Amar Colony Campus

Khalsa College via Bawana to special stop

Dwarka Sector 21 to IIT Delhi

Arvindo College to Badarpur border

Khalsa College via Mukurba Chowk via Hindu College

Art of Living Ashram to Khalsa College

Narela to Indraprastha College

How will buses be?

20 air conditioner electric buses will run in U Special Bus Service. Apart from this, 30 diesel -run 12 meters long buses will run and 20 diesel run 9 meters small buses will run. In these, only students pass holders will be allowed to travel. The timing of buses has been decided according to the college schedule so that class can be attended on time.

History of You Special Bus Service

The U Special Bus Service first started from Malkaganj Dipo on the day of Diwali in 1971. At that time, the fare used to be only 50 paise. This service was at its peak in the 90s. When about 400 buses used to travel to 1.90 lakh students daily. At the same time, in the year 2020, it had to be closed due to lack of covid and buses, which is now being started once again.

You special buses will be AC ​​and electric from this time. Buses for students will have a radio system, on which the pleas of songs and academic programs will be broadcast. Apart from this, the government aims to give students affordable and safe journey.
