Indian Railway News: Renovation work has been ongoing at New Delhi Railway Station for several days. The station is undergoing a complete transformation. As a result, many passengers face difficulties upon arriving at the station. Currently, those attempting to catch morning trains often have to wait in long queues. This situation has caused significant distress to passengers; taking this inconvenience into account, the Railways has taken a new decision to enhance passenger convenience, under which the originating/terminating stations for several trains will be changed.
Preparations to Change Train Stations
In fact, the redevelopment work currently underway at New Delhi Railway Station is expected to continue for approximately four more years. Consequently, preparations are being made to change the stations for several major trains. This list is not limited to just one or two trains; rather, changes are being implemented for a total of 30 trains—a list that also includes the prestigious Shatabdi Express trains. Let us tell you exactly which trains will have their stations changed.
Stations to be Changed for These Trains
This plan encompasses several trains, the list of which is as follows:
- Bhopal Shatabdi Express (12001-02)
- This train travels to Rani Kamalapati Station in Bhopal; it will now originate from and terminate at Hazrat Nizamuddin Station in Delhi.
- Taj Express (12279-80), Dr. Ambedkar Nagar Superfast Express (20155-56)
- Plans are also being formulated to shift both of these trains to Hazrat Nizamuddin Station.
- Certain special trains bound for Barauni and Darbhanga will now operate from Safdarjung Railway Station.
- Preparations are underway to shift the Dehradun and Kathgodam Shatabdi Express trains to Anand Vihar Terminal.
- The Humsafar Express bound for Prayagraj may also begin operating from Anand Vihar. Plans are currently being formulated to operate the Poorva Express, Vaishali Express, and trains bound for Banaras from Shakur Basti Railway Station.
Railway officials state that this proposal is currently under consideration; if everything proceeds smoothly, this change will be implemented just before the festive season. This measure aims to spare passengers the inconvenience of standing in long queues during the festivals. If you frequently travel on these trains, please exercise caution before making your next booking and check the latest updates on the official railway website to avoid any potential inconvenience.
