Waiting List and RAC Tickets
Cancellation Fee: If you need to cancel an RAC ticket, you must do so at least 30 minutes before the train departs. The cancellation fee for these tickets is Rs 60.
Tatkal Tickets
Tatkal tickets, which are often booked at the last minute, are not eligible for any refund on cancellation. It is a good idea to be sure about your travel plans before buying these tickets.
Confirmed tickets
Cancellation time limit and charges:
48 hours or more before departure: You can cancel a confirmed ticket up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train. The cancellation charges vary depending on the class of the ticket:
AC First Class: Rs 240
AC Two Tier: Rs 200
AC Three Tier and AC Chair Car: Rs 180
Sleeper Class: Rs 120
Two Seater: Rs 60
Cancellation due to train cancellation
Full refund if canceled due to floods: If your train gets canceled due to natural calamities like floods, you can get a full refund. Make sure you cancel your ticket within three days of travel.
Cancellation before 12 hours of departure: If the train is canceled less than 12 hours before departure, a deduction of 25% of the ticket price will be applicable.
Cancellation between 12 to 4 hours before departure: If you cancel your ticket within this time frame, the charge will be 50% of the ticket price.
