Information released in the official circular
The Ministry of Railways issued an official circular yesterday. It was informed that the fares of mail and express trains have been revised from July 1, 2025. In such a situation, if you book a train ticket from today i.e. 1 July 2025, then you will have to pay more money than before.
How much has the fare increased?
Based on the new announcement, the fare has been increased by 1 paisa per kilometer in non-AC i.e. non-AC categories, and 2 paise per kilometer in all air-conditioned i.e. AC categories. However, know that no change has been made in the fare of monthly season tickets and urban/mass transit services. Also, there has been no change in the fare of local trains i.e. suburban services.
In which trains have the fares increased?
The increased fare will be applicable only on long-distance trains:-

Vande Bharat
Tejas
Humsafar
Amrit Bharat
Gatiman
Mahamana

According to the information given by the Railway Ministry, the second-class fare will remain the same for 500 km. After this, there is an increase of 0.5 paise per kilometer. Whereas, there has been an increase of 0.5 paise per kilometer in the sleeper and first class category. There has been an increase of 2 paise per kilometer in AC categories i.e. First, Second and Third AC.
