Indian Railways: Millions of people travel on the Indian Railways network every day. During the summer season, people often head out on vacations; however, if you are currently planning such a trip, be aware that 350 trains have currently been cancelled.

Train Cancellation News: Amidst the surging crowds of passengers during the peak summer season, the railway network is experiencing significant disruption. Due to an ongoing "traffic block" on the Churu–Sadulpur railway section near Prayagraj, more than 350 trains are expected to be affected between April and June. This includes both Express and Passenger trains, potentially causing severe inconvenience to travelers.

Changes to Train Services

During this period, several trains have been cancelled, while the routes of others have been diverted. Furthermore, the timings of numerous trains have also been rescheduled. These sudden changes have created a stir among passengers. In particular, those who have already planned trips for their summer vacations are facing considerable difficulties. Securing a confirmed ticket on any train has become a daunting challenge, and many people are now actively searching for alternative travel options.

Passengers Demand Updates

In light of these circumstances, passengers have now demanded that the Railways provide regular updates. Travelers argue that the railway system is in urgent need of modernization. People point out that cancellations, route diversions, and schedule changes on such a massive scale ultimately force passengers to bear the brunt of the consequences. Speaking to the news agency ANI, several passengers stated that railway officials should formulate better plans—specifically keeping the needs of middle-class and lower-income travelers in mind—as not everyone can afford to travel by air.

Railway Officials Respond...

In response to these concerns, railway officials have stated that the traffic block on the Churu–Sadulpur section of the Bikaner Division was implemented to facilitate track doubling and the installation of an automatic signaling system. Additionally, yard remodeling work is currently underway at Prayagraj Station, which has also impacted train operations. During this period, the introduction of new special trains has been suspended, and activities such as the addition or removal of coaches have been curtailed.
