In the Samastipur Division of East Central Railway, 18 passenger trains have been cancelled and the routes of 23 other trains have been diverted between May 11 and May 14. This action is a result of Non-Interlocking (NI) work associated with the track doubling project on the Samastipur-Darbhanga section.

Why is this work being undertaken?

Samastipur Railway PRO, R.K. According to Singh, this work is being undertaken to strengthen rail connectivity, enhance line capacity, and make train operations safer and smoother. He explained that the non-interlocking work is an integral part of the track-doubling project, which will help alleviate congestion on this busy rail section in the future and improve train movement.

The Railways stated that approximately 20 trains have been short-terminated at various stations, while the timings of 7 trains have been rescheduled by 1 to 3 hours. The Railways has appealed to the public to strictly check their train's status and consult the timetable before commencing their journey.
