It is often seen that scammers call and tell mobile users to disconnect their mobile numbers. Many users get scared or unknowingly follow the instructions of scammers. After this, scammers commit fraud with the users. Now the government is issuing warnings to people about such calls.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI has issued a warning to mobile phone users about fraudulent calls. Allegedly scammers are calling users and threatening them to disconnect their mobile numbers. TRAI has clarified that it is not responsible for blocking or disconnecting any mobile number of telecom customers.

TRAI is sending warning messages to users about this scam. It says, "Disconnect any call from the Department of Telecommunications/TRAI threatening to disconnect your mobile. We are not making any such calls. Official communication, if any, will be from the official website/app/authorized store of your mobile operator. Please report any such call details to www.sanchaarsathi.gov.in.
Report through the Sanchar Sathi Portal
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has advised people to report such fraudulent calls through its Chakshu-Report Suspected Fraud Communications feature on the Sanchar Sathi portal (www.sancharsaath gov.in).
Advice to verify registered mobile connections
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has urged people to verify mobile connections registered under their name using the Know Your Mobile Connections feature on the Sanchar Sathi portal (www.sancharsaath.gov.in) and report any connections that do not belong to them.
Report cyber crime here
Additionally, users who are victims of cybercrime or financial fraud can report such incidents through the cyber crime helpline number 1920 or www.cybercrime.gov.in.
