5 rounds of meetings have been completed for the trade deal between India and America. But the final deal has not been made yet. Before the deadline of August 1, now the news is coming that the 6th round of meetings will be held between the two countries again in the month of August. The US delegation will come to India. This makes it clear that the chances of the deal happening before the deadline of August 1 are very low.

According to news agency PTI, a team of US trade officials will come to India in August for the next round of talks on the proposed bilateral trade agreement between the two countries. The report quoted an official as saying that for the next round of talks, the US team will come to India in the first or second week of August.

No talk in the 5th round
The fifth round of talks was held between the two countries last week, in which the trade deal could not be finalized. India and US officials completed the fifth round of trade talks in Washington. India's chief negotiator and Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Rajesh Agarwal, and Assistant US Trade Representative for South and Central Asia Brendan Lynch held discussions. In that round, issues related to agriculture and automobiles were discussed.

India's demand
The government is demanding the removal of an additional tariff of 26 percent. Apart from this, it is also trying to reduce the tariff of 50 percent on steel and aluminum and 25 percent on the auto sector. Some farmer organizations have requested the government not to include agriculture-related issues in the trade agreement. India is also demanding tariff exemption for labor-based sectors such as textiles, gems and jewelery, leather, clothing, plastic, chemicals, shrimp, oilseeds, grapes, and bananas in the proposed trade agreement.
